The Gardenia fruit Top Trumps Game has come from the printer! The pack contains all 68 different species that I have found in the drawers of the carp collection.
In the Herbarium collection the fruits are arranged after geographical area, and then alphabetically after species name. One of the fascinating things about archives is the choices that has to be made to organise the material - and all the alternative ways that did not happen. Top Trumps is a kind of archiving game, where the categories keep being changed. I thought this was a good way to play with ways to rearrange the gardenia fruits after all the ways that that I could think of quantifying: Collector, Collection Year, Geographic location, Size, Calyx length, Ribs, Beauty and Numinosity.
